Dr. Strange 2 was Really, Really Good (no spoilers)

I’m not gonna talk about the plot. I’m not gonna mention any of the major surprises in this movie. This is going to be a short recommendation that you go see Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness ASAP. I mean, if this trailer doesn’t get you jazzed up to see it, I’m not sure what will.

DS2 is one of the best Marvel movies I’ve ever seen. It’s certainly better than the first Dr. Strange, which was good! In many ways, it takes the superhero genre and blends it with horror. Not surprising. The guy directing this movie is Sam Raimi, who made his bones scaring people. I mean, this is the guy who did this:

The acting is great. The CGI is mostly great, though there are a few scenes where it looks like they could have spent a little more time/money making things look better. But I’m not picky about that. The cinematography is fantastic and it all looks like something out of a dream. The fight scenes are inventive, funny, and entertaining. They’re also properly lit so you can actually see what’s happening!

It’s hard to talk about this movie without getting into spoilers so I’ll just wrap up now. Go see it! It’s really cool. It would probably be helpful to watch WandaVision and the most recent Spider-man before you go but honestly, it’s good no matter what. Bonus: it’s less than two and a half hours long! So your legs won’t be numb. Instead, you’ll likely be on the literal edge of your seat. Just like I was.
