Top Five Fruits

With summer coming to a close, I thought it might be nice to bask in the sugary deliciousness of fruits. You can eat them any time of year, of course, but there’s something about a nice cold fruit on a hot summer day. On to the list!

5. Apples

Versatile. Fun. Keeps for long periods of time. You can pick ‘em, bob for ‘em, bake ‘em, and snack ‘em. A staple in every grade school kids lunch bag. The Mr. Reliable of fruit.

4. Grapes

Red grapes are the best. Green are fine. The rest can be used in wine and juice. Portable, sweet, customizable quantities. We’ve all lounged on a couch and fed ourselves grapes like Bacchus.

3. Bananas

10 billion apes can’t be wrong. Lots of nutrients. Potassium. Fiber. Delicious. Created by humans — probably extinct soon. Also, we probably eat them wrong.

2. Strawberries

There’s a reason they’re shaped like hearts. Doesn’t need the spotlight. A great addition to so many dishes. The perfect utility player.

1. Watermelon

I mean… look at it. So juicy. So refreshing. It’s the star of the show. Nothing comes close. If God had a favorite fruit it would be watermelon.
